関西地方を中心にダンス活動をしていた千紗。2005年にエイベックス・アーティスト・アカデミーにレッスン生として入校し、そこで楽曲提供を中心に作家活動をしていた鈴木大輔（key）と出会う。そしてデモ楽曲のレコーディングなどを繰り返すうちにエイベックス MAX松浦の目にとまり、ギターリストに井上裕治を加え2008年9月に「偶然の確率」でデビュー。そのカラフルなポップ・サウンドが音楽ファンの心をとらえ、女性ボーカル3人組ユニットでは過去最高位となる初登場3位を記録した。その後も2枚のシングル、12月には1stアルバム「girl next door」をリリース。その年の第59回紅白歌合戦にも初出場するなどデビュー4ヵ月では異例の活躍をみせる。2009年1月にはヴォーカル千紗は連続ドラマへ初のレギュラー出演するなど活動の場を広げている。 4月15日には千紗出演のCM出演でも注目を集めたニューシングル「Seeds of dream」をリリース、さらに続く6月10日にリリースしたシングル「Infinity」では初登場1位を獲得した。

夏には、a-nationを全カ所全公演に出演し、さらに夏フェスや学園祭に出演するなどLIVEを中心とした活動を行っていく。そして、2009年の「輝く！日本レコード大賞」では“優秀作品賞”を受賞。さらには2年連続の紅白歌合戦への出場を果たす。 そして、待望の2ndアルバム「NEXT FUTURE」を2010年1月20日にリリースし、オリコンアルバム週間ランキングで初登場1位を記録する。 その後「Freedom」では、洋楽的サウンドを取り入れ新たな一面も見せ、「Ready to be a lady」では、ガルネク初のガールズアゲソングをリリース。

2011年は「アガル」をテーマに3シングル連続リリース、4thアルバム「アガルネク！」を発売。リリース直後の全国15箇所のLIVEツアーでも「アガルネクサウンド」を見せつけ、ライヴアーティストとしても評価が高い。

2012年からは、元ELTの五十嵐充氏（作詞、アレンジ）の参加のもと、楽曲制作を行っている。

2013年2月27日には、NEWシングル「standing for you」を発売予定。そして、3月13日には通算5枚目となるオリジナルアルバムのリリースが決定している。加えて、4月5月には全国11箇所のライブツアーも決定している!!!

2013年9月3日で5周年を迎えるgirl next doorから今年も目が離せない!!!

Chisa, who was making a living as a dancer around Kansai region started taking classes at Avex Artist Academy in 2005 as a lesson student and met Daisuke Suzuki (key), who was writing songs for other artists. While they were submitting demos to Avex, they caught sight of Max Matsuura. They made a debut with a single “Guzen no Kakuritsu” in September 2008 with another member, a guitarist Yuji Inoue. They’ve charted top 3 recorded the highest ranking in chart as a three pc unit of a female vocal. Following 2 more singles, they released the 1st album “girl next door” in December the same year. It was another record-breaking incident to appear at the 59th Kohaku Uta Gassen in 4 months from debut. On April 15th they released a new single “Seeds of dream”, which was featured in a TV commercial with Chisa casted in it. The following single. “Infinity”, released on June 10th, debuted #1 on the chart. They toured a-nation concerts across Japan in the summer and appeared at various summer festivals as well as school festivals. 2009 Japan Record Award saw their winning of the Best Record Award followed by a consecutive appearances at Kohaku Uta Gassen. The waited 2nd album “NEXT FUTURE” was then released on January 20th, 2010, which ranked in no 1 in week 1. They’ve experienced international pop sound in “Freedom” and in “Ready to be a lady” was Garuneku’s first girls’ “age” song (girls’ anthem). Their theme of 2011 was “AGARU” (to be elated) and they released 3rd singles with this theme and their 4th album “Agaruneku!” Their 15 city tour appealed such Agaruneku sound and was acclaimed.

Since 2012, Mitsuru Igarashi (ex-ELT) is in charge of lyrics as well as arrangement.

A new single “standing for you” to be released on February 27th, 2013 and the 5th album release on March 13th followed by a 11-city concert tour in April to May.
